In 2020, amid rising U.S.-China geopolitical tensions, a major Chinese tech company faced significant challenges when its app was labelled a threat to U.S. national security.
To address this, the company leveraged our teams in Hong Kong and Washington to provide real-time insights and discreetly engaged influential stakeholders to communicate the potential negative commercial impact of a U.S. ban, an approach that helped refute misinformation and highlight the economic argument against the ban.
As a result, the app remains available in the U.S., and our client's brand has emerged stronger and better positioned to adopt a proactive communications strategy.
Over the last two decades, the Australian manufacturing sector has faced significant challenges, including currency fluctuations, high input costs, and burdensome regulations.
In response, we helped form a CEO-led body called Manufacturing Australia to represent Australia's largest manufacturers. Our role included providing public affairs advisory support as well as the creation of a national awareness campaign to enable Manufacturing Australia to more effectively engage in policy debates and represent manufacturers at the national level.
This initiative fostered a more favourable environment for industrial relations reform, deregulation, and tax reform, helping ensure the ongoing sustainability and competitiveness of the Australian manufacturing sector.
Tigerair, an Australian low-cost airline, faced an unprecedented crisis when it was grounded due to undisclosed safety concerns.
To address this, we collaborated closely with the airline’s Australian and Singaporean leadership teams to develop a clear, action-oriented protocol focused on restoring services quickly. The strategy included transparent communication with stakeholders across digital owned and earned platforms and cooperation with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
After six weeks, CASA confirmed that Tigerair had addressed all concerns, allowing the airline to resume services. This successful resolution salvaged Tigerair's reputation and reinforced its commitment to passenger safety, setting a new standard for crisis management in the Australian aviation industry.
An Australian premium wine company faced challenges due to increased alcohol consumption and regulatory changes following the pandemic.
To address these issues, a 10-week global policy review was conducted. The review revealed the need for urgent action to protect the company's global license to operate and provided clarity on consumer health policy issues in target markets.
The exercise also emphasised the importance of leading on key health-policy areas in order to stay ahead of the regulatory curve. Subsequent policy-led action has become integral to the company's goal of being the world's most admired premium wine company and an admired employer of choice.
